Anonymous User IDs

Post by RWAP » Fri Jan 08, 2010 7:41 am

This forum details where the user's real name is shown rather than their user ID - as far as possible the user ID should be used.

The original changes listed here have been deleted as they were incorporated in v1.7 - so move down the list!!

Another change - this is to themes\default\UserSoldItems.php

Find:

Code: Select all

                                                foreach($buyers as $k=>$v){
                                        ?>
                                                <option value="<?=$k?>" <?=$currentFilter==$k ? 'selected="selected"':''?>><?=$v?></option>
Change to:

Code: Select all

                                                foreach($buyers as $k=>$v){
                                        ?>
                                                <option value="<?=$k?>" <?=$currentFilter==$k ? 'selected="selected"':''?>><?=$k?></option>

Found another one ...

In themes\default\userList.php

Find:

Code: Select all

                <caption><?= _('User list') ?></caption>
                    <thead>
                        <th scope="col"><?= _('Name') ?></th>
Change this to:

Code: Select all

                <caption><?= _('User list') ?></caption>
                    <thead>
                        <th scope="col"><?= _('Username') ?></th>
Find:

Code: Select all

                                <td><a href="<?= $relativePath.'user/profile/'.$user['id'] ?>"><?= $user['name'] ?></a></td>
Change this to:

Code: Select all

                                <td><a href="<?= $relativePath.'user/profile/'.$user['id'] ?>"><?= $user['id'] ?></a></td>

This is probably up to the individual, but you may wish to prevent the user profiles from showing the proper name of a user.

In themes\default\userProfile.php

Find:

Code: Select all

                    <dt><?= _('Name') ?></dt>
                    <dd><?
                        if($user['trustSeller']){

                    ?>
                        <img src="<?=$relativePath?>themes/<?=$theme?>/img/trustUser.gif"
                            alt="<?=_('Trusted user')?>"
                            title="<?=_('Trusted user')?>"/>
                    <?
                        }
                    ?><?= $user['name']?>

                        (<a href="<?=$relativePath?>user/receivedFeedback/<?=$id?>"
                            title="<?=_('Prestige')?>"><?=$user['prestige']?></a>)</dd>
                    <dt><?= _('Username') ?></dt>
                    <dd><?= $user['id'] ?></dd>
We would prefer:

Code: Select all

                    <dt><?= _('Username') ?></dt>
                    <dd><?
                        if($user['trustSeller']){

                    ?>
                        <img src="<?=$relativePath?>themes/<?=$theme?>/img/trustUser.gif"
                            alt="<?=_('Trusted user')?>"
                            title="<?=_('Trusted user')?>"/>
                    <?
                        }
                    ?><?= $user['id'] ?>

                        (<a href="<?=$relativePath?>user/receivedFeedback/<?=$user['id']?>"
                            title="<?=_('Prestige')?>"><?=$user['prestige']?></a>)</dd>

Ah and then in class\Action\User.php

Find:

Code: Select all

        $data['title']   = sprintf(_('%s profile'), $user->name);
Change this to:

Code: Select all

        $data['title']   = sprintf(_('%s profile'), $user->id);
This appears several times in the file
