Maximum Auction Duration

I don't know if the paid version has this but I think there should be a limit on how long a user can make an auction go for.

When a seller lists an item, they can specify the duration (in days, hours or minutes) - I think that is a bit of overkill.

As you say, there is no way of the admin limiting the maximum duration for an auction listing and that is a good idea...

I guess it would need to be set on a per auction type basis... as fixed price listings may need to run longer (say 30 days)... and standard auctions say 10 days..

What are sensible limts for the other auctions:

reverse auction
penny auction
lot auction (probably 30 days again)

I have now written a MOD which allows the admin to set the maximum duration for each type of auction (which can be a set number of days, hours or minutes).

This is then validated as the user adds or edits an offer.
