I presume this is a copy of Enuuk which you have set up on your own server?

The 'Cannot instantiate mail function' is actually an issue to do with how PHP Sendmail is set up on your server (presuming it is installed).

This can be down to various issues - if you have access to the error.log on your server, see if anything is shown in there which points to the problem - it is normally to do with file permissions!

You have not said where you have found this problem....

If it is on your server - you need to talk to the support for your hosting company if it is a shared server.

If it is a VPS server, then I would need to see the extract from your error.log to help.

Provide a pointer to your site - that might help....

I am sorry - that does not mean anything to me at all.

Are you running on a shared server? If so, ask the hosting company to find out why the PHP Mail function is not working - you will not have the required access to do this.

Hosting servers, mail servers, and may be a separate cause of the problem?

You need to be running PHP Mail on your hosting server.

This will attempt to establish a connection to the mail server (which would normally be run on the same machine for ease of setting up).

I would guess that your hosting server is not set up correctly to run PHP mail.

There are loads of solutions on google for identifying and fixing this common issue - but it very much depends on how your server is set up.

I would initially email the company who provide your hosting server to ask

a) Is the sendmail program installed
b) Is there anything blocking sendmail from sending emails.... it may be a file permission issue, or it could be something else.

Sorry - but there are so many ways of setting up servers, and different types of Linux installations, without knowing full details of your hosting server, there is little anyone else can do.
