Enhanced Bulk Upload

Post by RWAP » Tue Mar 09, 2010 5:09 pm

I have written a variant of the Bulk Auction uploader which accepts a CSV file.

This has two benefits - you can edit the fields more easily, as you need to insert column headers for each field, and can then use Excel.

Better than that, is the ability to upload a CSV file which has been created using the eBay Turbo Lister - this means you can download closed auctions from eBay and then re-upload them onto an Ennuk auction platform website retaining all the information (except for pictures).

Cost £40

As part of this we have looked again at how the category name is passed to the bulk lister

The Bulk listing facility included within v1.7 of the Enuuk auction software expects each category to have an unique name - this is not necessarily the case when it comes to sub-categories, for example on our own SellMyRetro.com site, you can have two categories called hardware, both of which have different parents, for example:

Retro Computers->Sinclair->Sinclair QL->Hardware
Retro Computers->Sinclair->Sinclair ZX81->Hardware

We have therefore amended the code as part of this mod to allow you to enter a category name as
Retro Computers\Sinclair\Sinclair QL\Hardware

(in the style of the URL). We may also give access to the list of category names and IDs if people would prefer to enter the ID.

The only thing we cannot do with the export from the Turbo Lister is to create a look-up of ebay categories to merge into your own auctions - the seller will therefore have to amend the category for each item in the CSV file by hand.
