International Shipping

Post by RWAP » Fri Jan 08, 2010 8:35 am

In current versions of the Enuuk auction platform, although there is a tick box to indicate if you are willing to ship items internationally, there is currently no ability to charge different rates dependent on destination.

We have therefore created this module which allocates each country to one of 4 regions of the World (EEC, Europe, USA and Canada, Rest of World) and allows you to set a different postage rate for each international area. The correct postage rate is then applied when the purchaser completes their purchase of the item, dependent on the region where the purchaser is located (the domestic shipping rate is applied if they are in the same country as the seller).

We welcome feedback if more regions are required.

We have also implemented a check as part of this module to prevent someone from overseas purchasing an item when the international shipping option is not ticked.

This mod has now been re-written so that the admin backend can now create as many postal regions as you wish, and easily edit the countries for each postal region.

The mod now links in with the changes to Enuuk since the mod was originally designed, so that the admin can set up different shipping options for each region now, and when a seller creates an auction, they can decide which shipping options to offer, which regions they will ship to, and also add a different shipping for buyers who purchase more than one of a Lot Auction at a time.

Buyers will now only see the shipping options available to their country (or else cannot bid, if no shipping options to that postal region have been set by the seller), and then, as with the standard Enuuk the buyer can choose which shipping option they wish to use when paying for an item.
